Mar 31, 2020 Steps to Install HP Laserjet HP 1020 Driver on MacOS Mojave, Catalina. Step 1: Turn off your printer completely. Step 2: Download the HP 1020 Driver for Mac from the link below: HP Laserjet 1020 Driver for Mac. Download the latest drivers, firmware, and software for your HP LaserJet 1020 Printer. This is HP’s official website that will help automatically detect and download the correct drivers free of cost for your HP Computing and Printing products for Windows and Mac operating system. Though HP doesn't explicitly have a set of Mac drivers for the Laserjet 1020, there is a workaround. To install drivers for HP Laserjet 1020 on a Mac OS X, follow these instructions. Turn off and unplug the printer. The current HP LaserJet P1102W prints up to 1200x1200 resolution, is rated at 19ppm, has wireless capability and Mac OS X support for $149. If $149 isn't in your budget, you can find many good multifunction inkjet printers can SUPPORT OS X, scan, have 'laser' and color photo print quality and fast print speeds.
I need quite a bit of help here. Can somebody post for me detailed instructions on how to properly install the drivers for the HP Laserjet 1020 on my Macbook, such that it will print out documents without glitches?
I've been hearing preliminary reports that all the workarounds for the 1020 do not work?
Before I install SL, I was wondering if anyone actually got their 1020 to work.
How do I get drivers for HP laserjet 1020 for MAC?

I got a new MBP this week and Leopard and install went fine. Anyway, now I am trying to hook up my old printer (an HP Laserjet 1020). I saw on other sites that you could do this with the 1022 Driver - which is a pack for the whole 1020 series. It worked for people on the site, but, of course, they were running Tiger (or earlier). I wondered if anyone has tried doing this with Leopard and if you have any tips for doing this that would be great. Oh, and I know the easiest way to take care of this is just to buy a new printer ... but I really don't have the money right now.
My Laserjet 1020 worked perfectly with a downloaded driver on the MAC OS X but since installing the Snow Leopard it is a no go. Anyone with an idea to make it work would be appreciated. 'Plug in your printer, and Snow Leopard makes sure you have the most up-to-date printer driver. If not, it downloads the newest version.'....seems to be a mis-statement of facts.
I can get this printer at a really good deal but it seems it isn't officially Mac compatible. Has anyone been able to make it work with another driver? In particular, I'm planning on connecting it to a Windows XP Dell PC and then be able to print it on the network.
My current setup is an AirPort express with a PIXMA iP8500, if I grabbed a LaserJet 1020, could I plug a USB hub in the AirPort Express, and network them both at once?
Just purchased a iMac and I need a printer driver for HP Laserjet 1600

I had a Dell 1100 laser printer working on my iMac (G4 ball type) using a GIMP printer. I had to reset the queue and lost the driver. I can't remember which GIMP driver I used. Also, although I have loaded the latest GIMP s/w, I can't seem to get to them in Tiger 10.4.6.
We are trying to install/update to the NVIDIA 270.00.00f06 driver for the PNY Quadro FX4800 for Mac on our MacPro 3,1 with OSX 10.7.4. The system tells us 'No Driver Update Needed for this System', and will not allow driver to be installed. Can anyone advise if the current driver is automatically installed or provided by Apple Updates. If not can you provide proper instructions on how to properly update the driver. Also how can we confirm what driver version is currently installed.

I have a 13' Macbook Pro running 10.6.5. I also have an HP Laserjet P1102 (works fine on my windows machine) connected via USB. Now I just need my Macbook to communicate with the damn thing. I downloaded a huge HP driver package from Apple's website, installed it (took up 700megs of space) but it still doesn't detect the printer when I go into System Preferences to ADD printer. Are there certain steps I have to do or recite some kind of voodoo incantation to get this to work?
Has anybody installed an HP LaserJet 1000? I'm trying to do so onto an iMac, but not having any luck.
Been to the HP website and searched for drivers; they only show Windows drivers available for download. I downloaded some sort of generic program from HP, 'HP LaserJet for Mac v5.5.2'. It ran and installed some sort of stuff onto my Mac, and the Mac physically recognizes and identifies the LaserJet 1000 by name when I am in >System Preferences >Print and Fax > + ['add printers'], but the 'Print Using' dialog box just reads 'Please select a driver or printer model'.
Auto Select does not work, and if I search through the list of built-in printers in Leopard (...>Print Using: >'Select a driver to use...'), a bunch of HP LaserJet models are listed, starting with the 1010 and incrementing upward. But no HP 1000.
Anybody successfully installed or using the HP LJ 1000?
How does one add an HP LaserJet 4000N to a TimeCapsule based network with systems running 10.7.4? I had it working fine with a PowerPC based iMac; however, although I have the correct driver and have the printer hardwired to the network, it does not appear on the network, e.g., you do not see it in the Add Printer lists.
I've found out the hard way that Snow Leopard does not support the same printers as Leopard did and now I'm stuck. I spent the better part of the day researching how to get my HP LaserJet 4m Plus to work with the new OS and got nowhere. Can anyone tell me what I can do to get the printer to work with the new OS? The printer may be old but it functions flawlessly and only has about 50,000 impressions made, so it still has lots of life. I have it hooked up via ethernet and the cable is run under the floor to the other side of the office so adapting a serial/USB would not be doable or practical. I don't have the money to blow on a new printer so I would really like to make this work somehow. Any help would be much appreciated.
I have problems using my new HP LaserJet 1018 printer together with a mac mini. After looking on the net I found the printer program: foo2zjs, but since I am new in the Darwin/Unix world I had problem with the installation.
So I installed Leopard, which went amazingly well, everything I have seems to work pretty well (including Cisco's VPN and Parallels)...my HP LaserJet 3055 All-In-One will print, but it will not scan.
i am having problem ever since i have installed snowleaopard with my printer ... i have an HP laserjet P1007.. i have already downloaded the updated version of printer software from the apple website...
whenever i try to print it shows ... printer offline.. what do i do...
I work in a student computer lab where large files, such as unflattened Photoshop and Illustrator files (Creative Suite 3), are sent to the printer fairly often. We are having big issues with the machine hanging, spooling up for long periods of time, or even spitting out trash, especially after two or more of these jobs has been sent. An unflattened PSD file might hang for over an hour before getting around to printing. Even a flattened or condensed file hangs longer than it should, especially if printed several times. Then normal files coming afterwards have trouble printing. We often get here an error message that says No %%Bounding Box: comment in header!' Restarting the printer always seems to clear out the congestion and start the process over, though. We think it might be related to the postscript file, or PPD file, that comes with the HP drivers. We are working on OSX 10.5 (Leopard, not Snow Leopard) which may or may not be an issue, and our printer drivers are upgraded to the latest version, which is 7.8.0.761. Our PPD file is version 4.3.1.094, which seems to be the latest file version this update will install. We aren't going to be upgrading the labs to Snow Leopard any time soon, so that's not an option.
laserjet 4mv won't print from indesign cs3
Can I update to Lion OS and still use my HP Laserjet 3055. I have manage to use Snow Leopard and Gutenburg drivers so far.
Info:iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)
Before the 10.7.4 update, my HP Color LaserJet CM2320nf multi fucntion printer worked just fine with the built in OS X print drivers. I had the printer shared on the network via my iMac (2011) over USB and other devices could print to it via Bonjour.
As soon as the 10.7.4 update hit, printing has been an issue. Whenever a print job is sent to the printer over the network the printer displays a 'Please Insert Paper' warning that has to be cleared on the device itself before the print will continue, even though the printer is full of paper... This does not happen when printing from the iMac itself, only when using the iMac to share the printer.
10.7.4 seems to have been a really buggy update as it has caused problems with Wifi becoming unusable until the iMac is rebooted.

This past week I have had serious problems trying to get my Imac to print to a HP Laserjet 4100. Parallel port to USB.Driver version 18.4 THe Imac is less than a year old and runs on Lion. I have had intermittent problems ongoing but this time it keeps showing messages -Not connected.
Usually when I go into preferences and click hold, on and off a couple of time or delete document and try again it would work OK but this time I have deleted printer, reset printing system etc numerous times and it still does not print.Sometimes when I unplug and re-plug in the USB connection it does not even recognise the printer is plugged in.
I have tried connecting the printer to a completely different computer and it appeard to work ok so it does not seem to be the cable at fault. Does anyone have a similar problem and more important does anyone have a solution.

I have a LaserJet 5P. When I install it, I don't get the option to select that it's postscript or non-postscript. Consequently all of my documents look like userdict()print flush}%%BeginFeature which is very rarely what I wanted.
Why is my computer obsessed with postscript? How do I remove printer drivers?
Since the Update to 10.9.4 it isn't possible anymore to fax from my mac over the HP LaserJet 1536. I used this funktion maybe 10 times a year. The receiving of the fax I have never used because this is done by the Router (Fritzbox 7390).
Their is no software availible on the apple side which isn't already installiert. I feel not comfortable to load a much older Software from the original CD or the HP Site.
has apple killed this functionality in mavericks 10.9.4?
I have been on the phone to HP for days they are blaming my computer but really it doesn't sound right... Brand new iMac, and a brand new CM1312... I have plugged it directly into the back of the computer via the USB the computer sees it and there is no problem with printing... BUT using the HP Scanner software it cannot see the printer via USB... I used the HP Set Up Wizard and when it comes to the screen asking to find the USB or Network printer it can't see it under USB, EVEN THOUGH IT PRINTS VIA USB... Has anyone had this issue before? Am I better off using an ethernet cord?
I have problems to works my hp laserjet P1005 on my mac, I have installed the CD provide with my printer and I have installed too the drivers from the official HP Web page, but my printer it's no working yet. I want to know how I can do works my printer if it's possible.
I have a few HP Laserjet 3800n's at work. We use Macs running Mac OS X Leopard (10.5.6) and whenever we use the Papyrus font in Microsoft Word, the laserjets get an error 49.4C02. On Macs running 10.4, the file prints fine.
II think it's a Snow Leopard issue, meaning that I don't think there's anything wrong with my printer or its connection. Laserjet p2015dn. Always printed duplex when requested, although I can't say for certain that 10.5.8 worked, since I don't print duplex regularly. After SL, I had only the 'Manual Duplex' option, and nothing I could do would return my standard Duplex option. I reinstalled, reset the printer firmware, etc. etc. Every place that there's a duplex option, it's checked. Everything else about the printer is fine -- it sits out on the network and prints happily. I have not made a USB connection to see if that makes a difference.
I have a HP laserjet 1012 with OSX 10.6.2. The printer works, but after a few jobs, it stops. I have to shut it off and restart it and clear the queue of any jobs that didn't print.
